Theocharis Raptis is a professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Ioannina. He studied at the University of Ioannina and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. After obtaining his Magister degree in the Department of Music Education at the University of Munich, he completed his doctoral thesis at the same university. During his studies, he was a scholarship holder of the Panagiotis & Effie Michalis Foundation. He is the director of the Laboratory of Arts, Kinetic Expression and Teaching Applications of the University of Ioannina, Deputy Director of the Postgraduate Studies Program at the University of Ioannina, and co-editor of the scientific journal Music Education. His special research interests include music education at an early age, the philosophy of music education, systematic music pedagogy, and the relationship between music education and emotions.
