The focus of the Master’s program is to provide a theoretical and applied/practical foundation in the field of dance education, enabling graduates to acquire the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, to highlight the pedagogical aspects of dance performance and to pedagogically address the teaching of various approaches, techniques, and repertoires.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Master’s program is to provide graduate students with specialized training in dance pedagogy, with the aim of offering them a comprehensive education so that they can understand and study dance as a cultural form and as an art, as well as its pedagogical applications in various contexts of formal and non-formal education and, more broadly, in the public sphere. Furthermore, to be able to integrate, from an interdisciplinary perspective, knowledge from the fields of education, dance studies, the anthropology of dance, and folklore. Furthermore, the goal of the M.A. program is to promote the outreach of its academic activities and to foster collaboration with universities and research institutions both in Greece and abroad.

Specifically, it aims to:
- Provide high-level graduate studies.
- Conduct studies, research, and practical applications on topics related to dance pedagogy.
- Familiarizing students with practical, multifaceted knowledge and immersion in ethnographic, multimedia, multimodal, and multilocal research, channeled through the completion of assignments and other academic works with the aim of applying them to the field of social pedagogy.
- To remain competitive in relation to other departments, while simultaneously striving to improve its eligibility index.
- To produce scholars with the necessary skills for professional placement in the academic, public, and private sectors.
- Providing adequate training that will further lead to the completion of a doctoral dissertation.
- Ensuring the integration of graduate students and doctoral candidates into research programs and monitoring their subsequent professional development.
